I love to do feature style writing and reporting, as well as have a passion for video.
I have a Bachelor of Science from the University of West Alabama in Integrated Marketing Communications.
Formerly I served as the first Sports Information/Communications Specialist at East Central Community College in Decatur, MS. I also was a general reporter for Fox 30 News for a few months and a field reporter for Studio 96 Productions for three years where I usually worked as my own camera operator. Yes a little lady like myself can carry all that equipment and still be camera ready for my story. I'm definitely what we journalist call a One "Wo"man Band. I worked for the University of West Alabama's (UWA) football program as the Assistant Video Coordinator where I created highlights, and filmed all practices.
I also own a photography business, Sweet Memories by Tierra, where I shoot all pictures and videos, as well as manage my website and social media pages.
I am a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and the Association for Women in Sports Media.
I was a broadcast summer program teacher for Demopolis middle school, where I taught students all the ends and outs of journalism. I taught them: how to write, edit, and produce news packages, anchoring, camera shot techniques and angles, also some graphic design.
I interned at WTOK-Newscenter 11 with their sports department, where I shot stories, wrote voiceovers, interviewed and created packages.
Other video work includes for: Demopolis Chamber of Commerce, Riley Green Band, UWA's Counseling Services, UWA's College of Business, and UWA's Admissions.
Print Journalism includes for: The Demopolis Times, UWA MUSE, UWA's Office of Public Relations and the UWA Tiger Times.
I was involved with various non-profit organizations and extracurricular activities on campus.
